Reupholstery & Refinishing

Reupholstery can instantly add life to older furniture with sentimental or antique value or a timeworn piece that's just perfect for a certain spot in your home.  Our decorators can help you select the perfect tapestry, mattelasse, chenille, velvet or damask, and explain other options to you, such as tufting, nailheads and trims. Our reupholstery service includes replacing worn springs, restuffing cushions and refinishing wood to make your furniture look and feel like new.

Window Treatments

Window Treatments are our specialty. Sumptuous drapes with decorative hardware, formal swags and jabots, balloon and roman shades, and light-filtering sheer panels are painstakingly made by hand by our talented sewers. Choose from a vast selection of imported silks, cheery florals, dressy moires, washed denims - then add details like welting, trims, buttons or bows - if you can dream it, we can make it for you. And if you're not sure what you want, we'll send one of our qualified decorators to your home to help you - absolutely free of charge.

Custom-Made Bedding

Simply put, there is nothing more luxurious than custom-made bedding, from upholstered headboards and canopies to comforters and duvet covers, from bed and table skirts to pillows and shams. Our shop-at-home decorators will bring you fabric and trim samples, and recommend style and quilting options with your budget in mind. Serene neutrals, English country floral and checks, ethnic prints and animal skins, washed cottons - whatever your style, we can make your bedroom look rich and feel comfortable.

Slipcovers

Slipcovers, another specialty of The Decorating Store at Terminal Mill Ends, are a less expensive and very desirable alternative to reupholstery. Our seasoned cutters work in a variety of styles from tight fitted to "shabby chic," and our workmanship is top-notch, with over-locked seams, welting, arm caps and zippers for easy removal. Of course, our decorators will help you sort through a myriad of choices for fabrics and dressmaker details.

Cushions & Foam

We will also make new cushions, recover your cushions and chair seats, or take your cushion covers and refill them. For boats and outdoor furniture, we carry a wide selection of Sunbrella fabrics and vinyl.

Shades & Blinds

We offer full lines of Hunter Douglas, Graber, Prestige and Kirsch products such as aluminum and wood blinds, pleated and cellular shades, verticals, Silhouettes, Luminettes and many others, all at competitively discounted prices.

Drapery Hardware

Your window treatments can truly be one-of-a-kind with carved mahogany poles, finials and brackets, a set of antique bronze holdbacks or hardware faux-painted to match your wallpaper. We know where to get the most dramatic, as well as the tried-and-true standard.

Fabric & Trim By the Yard

If you're a do-it-yourself type, you'll love the huge selection of fabrics and trims we carry in our store. Come browse through the thousands of bolts of drapery and upholstery fabrics as well as dress goods. You'll also find the supplies you need to complete your projects.

Full-Service Interior Design

We have wonderful designers on staff who can work up floor plans and scheme boards to coordinate paint, wallpaper, carpet, rugs and fabrics, and help you find that special piece of furniture or accessory.

New Custom Furniture

Let us design the perfect upholstered piece to suit your rooms. We can help you choose a frame and then coordinate fabric and wood colors to fit into your decor. We can also build ottomans to be used as everything from footstools to cocktail tables.

Your support of our store, now more than 60 years, has continually fueled our creative spirit in providing you the best in fabrics and original custom designs, for your home interiors.  We truly appreciate your patronage and for those who have yet to work with The Decorating Store, we hope your tour of our website will inspire you too, to look to us for your decorating and design needs.

When my parents first started this business in 1949, I don't think any of us could have foretold the long-term success we've enjoyed. Our success over so many years comes from our ongoing commitment to providing personal attention to our customers throughout the design process. We are proud to say that in many cases, we have worked with three generations of customers from the same family!

The Decorating Store at Terminal Mill Ends is a 6000 square foot showroom, with free convenient parking in the back, full of fabrics, bought directly from the mills, with discounts of up to 50% to you. This includes Kravet, Robert Allen, Laura Ashley, Nautica, Ralph Lauren, Waverly and many other products. We have an even larger selection of fabrics available for special order, as well as an entire Couture section for higher end fabrics, trims, and custom furniture.

We are a full-service decorating center, with qualified interior decorators available in-store as well as for a free, no-obligation consultation in your home. Our decorators can help you create a fashionable look for your home with custom product, from blinds and fabric window treatments, to reupholstering, refinishing, or slip covering your existing furniture, to all the pillows, tablecloths, and accessories to complete look. We also carry new custom upholstered furniture-Choose your frame, and put it together with our fabric for a custom piece to suit you individual taste and needs. And we are excited to announce the newest addition to our furniture line: Beautifully crafted occasional tables and accessory pieces from Butler Furniture!

For those who do their own sewing, we carry a full line of fashion fabrics, from casual solids to formal and bridal fabrics, to wools, fleeces, and other seasonal goods. We have a full line of colorful calicos for quilters and Red Heart yarn and chenille for knitters, and cut-out blankets and crafts that are perfect year-round for gift giving.
